Message from the CEO

Welcome to Dronelab Academy.

My own connection with drones goes back many years. I lived in Shenzhen, China for six years, at a time when companies such as DJI and Yuneec were growing rapidly and drones were starting to move from specialist technology into everyday life. I saw agricultural drones using GPS to spray crops, delivery drones dropping off lunch in parks, and drones being used by emergency services to inspect building fires. It was clear to me then that this technology was not a gimmick — it was going to change the world.I have also been flying multi-rotor drones myself for around 15 years, so Dronelab Academy is very much built from a personal passion as well as an educational vision.

What excites me most is bringing that passion into British schools. Drones have a unique ability to make STEM feel real. When a student builds, codes or flies a drone, they are not just learning theory — they are problem-solving, experimenting, working as a team and gaining confidence.Our aim is to give students safe, exciting and memorable experiences that open their eyes to the future of technology. For some, it may spark a career path in engineering, aviation, robotics or coding. For others, it may simply be the moment they realise they are capable of far more than they thought.

Why We Started

The idea behind Dronelab Academy came from a simple observation - students learn best when they are actively involved. Traditional learning methods can limit creativity and engagement. By introducing drones, we create an environment where students can experiment, solve problems and learn through hands-on, practical experiences.
